Reward for Information in 13 Year Old Hit and Run
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in a deadly hit and run crash more than a decade ago. On July 23, 2011, 22-year-old Alexandria Castanon was walking on Center Road near Richfield Road in Genesee Township when she wa struck by a vehicle and killed. Friday Shooting In Burton Leaves Man Dead
A 47-year-old man was shot and killed in Burton last Friday. Police say the incident happened at the Ten Eleven Food Store at 3280 Lippincott Boulevard shortly after noon. The man was killed in the parking lot of the store following an altercation with the suspect, according to police, who say the suspect fled the area heading west toward Dort Highway. No arrestes were made.
Caro officials, Fair board to discuss future of camping
CARO — Earlier this year, the city of Caro and the Tuscola County Fair Board inked a five-year lease for use of the fairgrounds. That lease allowed camping at the fairgrounds, but with some conditions, based on limits imposed by existing ordinances. It allows the use of recreational vehicles, trailers or buses for no more than 14 days in any 90-day period, and limits three of those vehicles on each lot within the fairgrounds.

After 90 minutes of discussion Monday night, the Clarkston City Council decided on a plan to repave Main Street and possibly to install a water main for the next summer was all wet. Following a suggestion made by Gary Tressell, the city’s engineer, the council voted 6-0 to delay the repaving project for one year so it could work out solutions to have a water main installed on Main Street.
