Olean Senior Center announces events schedule
OLEAN — The Olean Senior Center, 112 N. Barry St., in the John J. Ash Community Building, announces its schedule for the week of July 8. The center is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon, and programs are for people age 60 years and older and are sponsored by the City of Olean Parks and Recreation Department and the Planning Committee on Problems of the Aging. Passenger killed in rollover crash identified
A passenger who was killed during a rollover crash in Steuben County has been identified. On July 3, at approximately 4:55 p.m., New York State Police in Bath responded to a motor vehicle accident on State Route 371 near State Route 21 in the town of Cohocton. A preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Lukas J. Ellsessor, 31, of Angelica, NY, was traveling north on State Route 371 when it passed another vehicle in a no-passing zone, according to troopers. Ellsessor lost control of the vehicle, causing it to exit the roadway and roll over, troopers said.

Seneca Nation files notice of claim against Olean for wastewater spills
The Seneca Nation is one step closer to suing Olean over the city’s overflowing wastewater treatment plant. The nation’s legal department served a notice of claim on the city's government, tribal officials announced Tuesday, allowing the nation to file a lawsuit against Olean at a later date. The move comes after two overflows from Olean’s treatment plant in April and June collectively spilled more than 300,000 gallons of wastewater into the Allegheny River, which runs through the Seneca Nation’s Allegany Territory.

(WNY News Now) – Little Valley – In a late-night incident, an Olean man was arrested for aggravated DWI after allegedly registering a BAC over three times the legal limit. Sheriff Timothy S.
