North Hornell Police Department receives three major grant awards
New funding for technology, School Resource Officer, and new patrol car. In April of 2024 the Village of North Hornell Police Department recently secured nearly $60K grant from the New York State Law Enforcement Technology Grant. This money will go towards paying off equipment lease contracts, upgrading outdated computers and radio equipment along with purchasing of new equipment to better secure and protect the officers and the residents within the community of North Hornell.

Sunday, 1:36 p.m., no injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of West Sullivan and North Seventh streets. A vehicle operated by April M. Tisdale, 32, of 304 W. Water St., was entering the intersection when it reportedly struck a vehicle operated by Jonathon T. Magro, 25, of 323 Hamilton Ave. Tisdale was subsequently cited for failure to yield right-of-way, an infraction.
Torrey marks 25 years at Cutco
OLEAN — Josh Torrey, continuous improvement coordinator for Cutco Cutlery Corp., is celebrating 25 years with the company this week. Torrey joined Cutco on June 28, 1999, as a shear operator. He was promoted to production supervisor in January 2001, and oversaw various departments over the next several years. He assumed his current position on April 15, 2017.
