Summer activities keep Port Allegany a busy place: Pam's Corner by Pam Fischer
It’s been another busy week of me working working on trying to get back home and helping Lexi. Thankfully, Kacie is home helping us all. What a blessing!. We spent a hot summer afternoon at our granddaughter’s home in Cyclone. There was a get together, a combined baby shower and diaper shower for great-grandchild number 8. It was hot, but with a little breeze and a canopy shielding us from the sun, it was very pleasant. I’m not sure the kids running around playing thought it was comfortable but they had fun nonetheless. We look forward to welcoming the little one soon.

An Olean man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting someone while incarcerated. According to the Cattaraugus County Sherriff’s Office, 19-year-old Donte Weakfall-Wright allegedly assaulted his girlfriend during visitation while he was incarcerated in Cattaraugus County Jail. The victim reportedly received medical attention from jail medical staff and was transported to Olean General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A Wellsville man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a shooting death Saturday morning, Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reported. Bradly J. Maddalena, 24, of County Road 18, has been remanded to Steuben County Jail without bail. He is accused of slaying Wayne E. Mosher, 57, of the Town of Woodhull.

STATE POLICE AT COUDERSPORT
Kyle J. Podjed, 35, of Lebanon, was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash on Kinney Road, Genesee Township, June 1. Podjed was traveling east on a 2015 Beta 300 CC motorcycle when a bear entered the roadway into his path. Podjed was thrown from the bike in the collision and transported via medical helicopter to Erie County Medical Center. Police were assisted on scene by Genesee volunteer fire department and Genessee EMS.
