Suzette Renee Carlin, 62, Wellsville
Suzette Renee Carlin, 62, of Donovan Road, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the Hart Comfort House peacefully, with her family by her side. She was born March 11, 1962, in Miami, FL, the daughter of the late Donald and Patricia (Clark) Davis. On October 11, 1997, in Wellsville, she married Gregory C. Carlin, who survives.

Drug Charges for Cuba Resident
A Cuba man was arrested in Olean on drug charges Tuesday evening. According to Olean police, 43-year-old Christopher E Herron was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing cocaine, as well as misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, along with a number of motor vehicle charges.
Vietnam veteran, dog killed in fire at Genesee Township house
GENESEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) - Firefighters found a Vietnam War veteran and his dog dead after their house caught fire in Genesee Township early Thursday. Genesee Township Fire Chief Don Fremd said the fire was reported around 4:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Clovis Avenue a short distance east of Saginaw Street in the Beecher area.

Jones Memorial Hospital birthing center receives donation from local church
WELLSVILLE — The Dr. F. Clifton Miller Birthing Center at Jones Memorial Hospital received a donation of nearly $1,200 from the Andover First Baptist Church. Church members competed in teams — "girls vs. boys" — to collect change May 12 through June 16 for the initiative. In just over a month, the boys raised $603.45, while the girls raised $585.65, thanks to a last-minute donation.

Pitching Struggles Continue for Oilers
OLEAN, NY — Early pitching struggles for the Oilers proved to be too much for Olean's offense to overcome in an 11-7 loss to the Dansville Gliders Tuesday. The Oilers entered the third inning tied 2-2, and then the Gliders took control of the game.
