Genesee Valley Central School announces honor rolls for 2023-24
The administration of Genesee Valley Central School announces the following students, grades 9-12, have been named to the Honor Rolls for the 4th quarter of the 2023-24 school year. A student named to the Principal’s Honor Roll recognizes students who have an average of 93 and above. The High Honor Roll recognizes students whose average is 90-92 and the Honor Roll recognizes students whose average is 85-89.
Jones Memorial Hospital neurology, rheumatology and infusion center opens in Hornell Medical Office

Ahead of schedule, the Jones Memorial Hospital neurology, rheumatology and infusion center in the Hornell Medical Office building at 7309 Seneca Rd. N, Suite 116 is open for patients. The new state clinic offers office visits for neurology and rheumatology, as well as infusions for these patients and general infusions, with a large state of the art infusion suite including 6 infusion chairs, nutrition center, social worker and on site providers. The $1.5 million project was completed through a partnership with JMH and the University of Rochester Medical Center. The clinic also welcomes two new providers to the region – Dr. Carlos Sollero of the Neurology Department and Dr. Vanessa Browne of the Rheumatology Department. They will join the existing rheumatology team, including Dr. James VanDeWall and David Roae, NP, at the location.

Warren B. Dixon, age 82, of the Isaman Road passed away on Saturday July 6 at the Wellsville Manor Care Center. He was born in Olean on November 14, 1941 to the late Zedric and Lois Amsler Dixon. In 1986 in Limestone, New York he married JoAnn Hill who survives.

Hinsdale Man Faces Strangulation, Assault Charges
A Hinsdale man has been charged with allegedly strangling someone. According to Olean police, 23-year-old John W See was charged early Wednesday morning with felony strangulation as well as misdemeanor assault. These charges stemmed from a reported domestic incident. See was released with an appearance ticket.

An Olean man was arrested Wednesday morning on a number of charges. According to Olean Police, 32-year-old Stephen H Frank was arrested on a warrant issued out of Olean City Court relating to charges of felony burglary, robbery, and assault, two counts of grand larceny, as well as other misdemeanor charges.
