Only these three towns are holding primary elections today in Allegany County. Notice is hereby given pursuant to Art 4 Sec 122 of the New York State Election Law that the following is a list of candidates for the PRIMARY ELECTION to be held on Tuesday JUNE 25, 2024 in the Towns of Belfast for Democrats, Hume for Republicans & Wirt Republicans ONLY. ALL remaining towns DO NOT have a primary election.
Police reports 6/26/24
Monday, 7:40 a.m., no injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident on South Union Street near West Riverside Drive. A vehicle operated by Spencer M. Elliott, 38, of Cuba, was making a turn when it reportedly struck a vehicle operated by Dylan P. Carls, 34, of 472 Route 16. Elliott was subsequently cited for failure to yield right-of-way and unlicensed operator, infractions.

Olean knocked out of Cup with loss to Queenston
ELMA — After suffering a 3-0 defeat to Queenston FC in its final group stage fixture, Olean 1854 FC was knocked out of the Tehel Cup. Queenston defeated both Olean and AC Elite in the Tehel Cup’s Group D, finishing with six points and booking itself a spot in the competition’s quarterfinal, a game that will take place on July 18. Olean finished with three points after having defeated AC Elite in their previous group stage affair.
Galeton to celebrate 39th Red Suspender weekend
Galeton’s 39th annual Red Suspender weekend will be held on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 with events taking place all over town. On Friday night, Centertown Park will host live music and on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. the day’s events will begin with a 5K Run and 2K walk at St. Bibliana’s Parish Center. Osceola, Pa. — A Tioga County man was charged after he was caught creeping around on the front porches of homes. State police at Mansfield were called in the early morning hours of June 17 to a home in Osceola Township for a report of a man on their front porch messing with the front door. Trp. Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Dept. Receives State Grant
New York’s new $10 million Volunteer Firefighter Training Stipend program has paid out its first $140,250 to a total of 105 trainees from more than 50 fire departments statewide, including $750 for the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department. “Volunteer firefighters put their lives on the line each day out of a selfless dedication to serving and protecting our communities,” Gov.
