    Traveling student art exhibit stops in Geneseo

    A traveling exhibit of K-12 student artwork curated by the Illinois Art Education Association (IAEA) is making its last stop in Geneseo.

    The Smith Studio and Gallery , 124 S. State Street, is hosting the exhibition during August. The statewide art project is recreated every year to highlight artwork by students in the state. The current 2023-2024 exhibition contains 45 works of art that were chosen from 630 entries. The exhibition has been traveling Illinois for the past year and Geneseo is its 11 th and final showing.

    IAEA Student Exhibit (Smith Studio & Gallery)

    The exhibition shows how visual art goals and educational objectives are included throughout Illinois schools and shows the creativity of children at different age levels.

    The exhibit is open and free to the public during August. The Smith Studio and Gallery’s hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
