ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A Geneva man has been arrested and accused of issuing a bad check worth over $9,600 to another business.

According to Wayne County Sheriffs Office, Lee Houghton, age 39, was provided a service for Troms restaurant on Pearl Street in Lyons. The service installed multiple items and equipment for the restaurant amounting to $9,633.09.

Houghton gave a check to Main General Food Supply in Henrietta to pay for the equipment, and when a deposit was attempted, it was declined due to insufficient funds.

WCSO says Main General Food Supply allegedly had tried to contact Houghton, and later filed a 10-day protest. Houghton was then located at Troms and arrested for Issuing a Bad Check.

Houghton was transported to Wayne County Jail for prints and photos and released on an appearance ticket. He is due back in Lyons Town Court at a later date.
