Court Street hosted a crowd of well over 100 attendees on Saturday, when the Last Call event for Ohio Brew Week took place. The event blocked off a portion of the road and featured a wide variety of beer, food and merchandise booths along the sidewalks. Inside the time capsule were, among other things, old newspapers, an old book from the Garrettsville 120th Centennial and a song written about Garrettsville called “Old Garrettsville” that was sung by two girls, according to the James A. A shelter in Ohio located the owner of a lost dog after it was found wandering the aisles of a Flying J truck stop on Monday morning. A clerk at the Flying J in Hubbard Township, Ohio was working at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, July 22nd when a dog snuck in through the front doors when a customer stepped inside.
Great Lakes Brewing Co. Enters Massachusetts, Rhode Island
CLEVELAND – Great Lakes Brewing Co. (GLBC) announces its distribution expansion into Massachusetts and Rhode Island with Atlantic Beverage. The brewery began its market launch on July 19, in conjunction with the release of seasonal Oktoberfest in cans and draft. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources opened a new trail at Findley State Park on Saturday. The Dorothy and Corbett Walker Memorial Trail is named for Dorothy and Corbett Walker, who called their nearly 125-acre farm “Walnut Valley” and settled in the area more than 75 years ago after Corbett Walker’s service in World War II, according to an ODNR news release.
