If Jets get Rodgers, they'll instantly become NY's most popular sports team

New York City — "The Jets and Mets are cousins because both are New York's loveable losers." Ouch! Skip Bayless' comments and others of the sort reflect a harsh truth here in NYC.

Quite simply, on subways we see 9 Yankees' hats for every Mets 1.

As for football jerseys, ahem, you're bound to spot 99 Giants' jerseys for each Jets' 1. To paraphrase Jay-Z, New Yorkers "got 99 problems but a [Jets' jersey] ain't one."

When the Jets pull off this blockbuster trade for A-Rod, however, it'll even top when the Yankees signed the other A-Rod. After all, for the last decade Rodgers has been the best quarterback in the NFL.

Period.

Sure, some diehards and pundits argue Brady's been the best due to Super Bowl rings. But numbers tell a different story. After all, men tell lies ... women tell lies ... numbers tell truths. And according to Wikipedia, the numbers tell a story of how Rodgers borders on being superman:

Quite simply, when the Jets sign Rodgers, this'll mark the first time the best player in the world wears not a Yankees' uniform. Not a Giants' uniform. He'll wear a NY Jets' uniform!

As longtime Giants' fan Steve Corney puts it: "Seeing #12 in that uniform scares the living hell outta me!"

To Steve's point, what happens when the subways on Sundays are overflowing with green and white Jets' jerseys?

What happens when Rodgers dominates the front page of the Daily News while Saquon Barkley, and other Giants, find themselves being dwarfed by the new giant?

No wonder Giants' fans fear Aaron Rodgers playing for their NYC rivals.
