HOUSTON, TX — "They see me rollin'... They hatin'. Patrollin' and tryna catch me ridin' dirty," Chamillionaire famously rapped.

At the time of the Houston native's hit song, "Ridin' Dirty," who would've ever guessed Chamillionaire's lyrics would one day be used to describe his city?

As a Houston native who now lives in New York City, I was left scratching my head when hearing the following news:

According to a recent study by LawnStarter, Houston, Texas, has officially become "the nation’s dirtiest city."

    Ouch!

" 'Dirtier' than New York City... really?" I asked myself.

"What about New York's well-earned reputation for its trash-filled, rat-infested sidewalks?" I also wondered. "Was that not taken into account?"

Well, Houston's being nicknamed "the Bayou City" didn't do us any favors in this department. According to the report, H-Town earned the unenviable distinction due primarily to its terrible air quality and shoddy infrastructure.

People have now taken to social media to voice their frustrations.

LawnStarter's scathing report about Houston's pest problem would've even made the late Marvin Zindler shake his head. After all, H-Town is said to have one of the worst cockroach problems in America.

Talk about giving new meaning to Paul Wall's lyrics "crawling," as the city seems to be riddled with creepy critters.

Despite Houston's challenges with pest control and air pollution, H-Town still ranks in the top 10 for best cities to live in America. In short, with all things considered, things could be a lot worse, if not dirtier.
