'Magnet fishing' Queens couple finds safe stuffed with cash

New York City — "Life is like a box of chocolates... you never know what you're gonna get," Forrest Gump famously said. In this case, a lucky couple opened a box and found $100,000 in cold hard cash instead of chocolates.

James Kane and Barbie Agostini, a Queens couple known on their YouTube channel for magnet fishing — shortly after reeling in a muddy safe from a pond on Friday — told Spectrum News NY1 they were shocked.

Why?

When they cracked open the safe, they expected to find muddy water. Instead, they were treated to stacks of hundred-dollar bills. Yes, $100,000 to be exact.

"I said 'Babe, this is not possible! Holy 'some profanity'... and we pulled it out and it was like two stacks of freaking hundreds,' " Kane said. "Big stacks."

Moral of the story?

Unexpected cases like this once again show us why — where there is life, there is hope.

If faced with financial struggles, as this Queens couple story indicates: never give up hope because your miracle could be right around the corner. Or in this instance — right under a muddy safe in some random Queens' pond.
