'Wrestling' with Hair Loss? Houston's Most Famous Wrestler & Hair Doctor May Have the Solution

Houston, TX — When you think of wrestling, "Hulk Hogan," "The Rock" and "Booker T" come to mind. Though all three are in the WWE Hall of Fame, Booker T is the only Houstonian on the list.

Booker T was a special guest on this week's Houston Happens news telecast.

Initially I thought he'd be discussing wrestling. But Booker T had other types of "wrestling" in mind.

He recounted how for years he'd been privately wrestling with hair loss. But instead of giving up and shaving off his trademark dreadlocks, Booker T took a friend's advice: he contacted "Houston's Hair Queen," Dr. Leola Anifowoshe.

Perhaps one of the reasons business is booming for Dr. Leola's Texas Hair Restoration & Wellness Center is she approaches hair restoration from the inside out.

Trichologists attempt to uncover the root causes of hair loss. Once uncovered, they use a series of natural hair-growth techniques — ranging from changing diet to laser-therapy caps.

As for laser caps, a study performed on 44 men with male pattern baldness "revealed a 35% increase in hair density after 60 sessions with a red light therapy helmet."
