Forced repairs to the Delaware Aqueduct may reduce the quality of the city's tap water

New York City — Surprising to most, New York City has some of the most delicious drinking water in America. But this might all change due to repairs to the Delaware Aqueduct.

On Monday, officials assured residents that the city's faucet water will remain perfectly safe, even if it tastes slightly different.

The city finally decided to shut down parts of a main aqueduct for the winter. The reason for the shutdown stems from massive leaks in the supply system.

“New Yorkers should know that your water is going to taste a little, slightly different. Some of you are not going to pick it up,” Mayor Eric Adams said before sipping a bit of water at a news conference.
