Child dies in Warrick County after being struck by vehicle

EVANSVILLE — A 1-year-old child died after being struck by a vehicle in Warrick County Sunday evening.

The Warrick County Sheriff's Office and Warrick County Coroner’s Office are investigating the incident that occurred at a residence in the 7000 block of Lincoln Trail Road, north of Tennyson.

"A 1-year-old child was struck by a motor vehicle, after the child ran in front of the vehicle while on private property," states a news release from Sheriff Michael Wilder. "The child, Judson Whelan (age 1 of Gentryville), died at the scene."

The Warrick County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Warrick County Coroner’s Office, EMS, Indiana State Police, Pigeon Township Fire Department, Skelton Township Fire Department and Air Evac.
