Placer Supes fill vacant planning commission seat
The Placer County Board of Supervisors appointed Amber Beckler of Granite Bay to the vacant Planning Commission seat during its consent agenda Tuesday. The Planning Commission, composed of seven members, is the principle advisory board to the supervisors on planning and related matters. Responsibilities of the commission include holding public hearings; making recommendations on proposed general plans, studies and zoning text amendments; reviewing and making decisions on major land development proposals; and encouraging resident leadership and participation in the planning process.

Folsom City Council approves $2.7 million loan for low-income housing project
The Folsom City Council agreed Tuesday to grant a $2.7 million loan for an affordable housing project on Harrington Grove. West Development Ventures, an affiliate of Pacific West Communities, requested the “gap financing” from Folsom to help build Harrington Grove, 52 units of affordable, multi-family rentals. The two-acre site is located at 791 Harrington Way, southeast of the East Bidwell Street and Blue Ravine Road intersection.
