Not every dog is cut out for live TV. It takes camera presence, a strong personality, and the ability to think fast on your feet, especially when it comes to weather. For a confident Bernese Mountain Dog named Parker, going on TV is just another day of being awesome.

In a June 26, 2024 TikTok clip shared by Parker the Snow Dog ( @officalsnowdog ), it's clear who the real star of the news is. See Parker's very professional appearance below!

"When you’re helping with the national weather and they won’t give you the weather clicker," the 34-second clip is captioned, showing Honorary Mayor of Georgetown, Colorado Parker "helping" with a weather forecast on live TV.

Dressed in an orange tie like every professional should, Mayor Parker is situated on a stool next to the meteorologist. Though he can't actually speak on the weather, his interests lie in the woman's clicker. Never one to give up on his dreams easily, Parker offers a few licks to try and coax the clicker from her hand.

As she continues speaking on the weather, the big pup loses interest in the forecast altogether and focuses all his attention to that pesky clicker that he never gets. It was a good effort and we're sure his more than 11,000 followers agree.

How to Make Sure Your Dog Is TV-Ready

Parker's an obvious pro at everything he does, but being on live TV takes a little bit of preparation and training to be sure your dog shines. According to an interview in Observer with pet expert and certified professional dog trainer for Rover, Nate Ellis, if you want to get your dog into showbiz of any kind, there are a few things you can do to catch the big wigs' attention.

The first step is to make sure your dog is confident in their behaviors, including sit, stay, and down. It seems obvious, but their personalities must be able to take commands and they should also be excited and motivated to work. Training is the underlying theme and, at the very least, "dogs should be able to hit a mark, sit, down, head up, head down, and lay on one command." He also notes that they should be comfortable with people "eating, running, yelling, and so on."

The business isn't for every dog (especially those nervous or anxious), but if you're a Bernese Mountain Dog training humans how to give you a weather clicker, it's a breeze.
