18-year-old arrested after allegedly shooting teen girl in Douglas County
An 18-year-old has been arrested in Douglas County after law enforcement found a teen girl with a gunshot wound to the leg. On Thursday evening around 10:12 p.m., Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call for service regarding unknown trouble on Little Willow Court in unincorporated Douglas County Upon law enforcement's arrival, deputies found a 17-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the leg. She was taken to an area hospital and her condition is unknown at this time. Michael Kopecky, a resident of the house, was taken into custody and taken to the Douglas County jail following the incident. Kopecky faces charges of first-degree assault, felony menacing and prohibited use of a weapon. A handgun was found at the scene. This is still an open and active investigation.
