SOUTH CAROLINA (LOOTPRESS) – A family’s unseasoned chicken cooking dispute in South Carolina spiraled into a bizarre and violent brawl, leading to Raid bug spray being sprayed, gunshots, and a chase with a broom.

According to a police report obtained by Channel 2 Action News , a fight involving Raid bug spray, fists, and a knife was sparked by a dispute over some unseasoned chicken.

The incident occurred in Georgetown County, South Carolina, where deputies were called to a home where a fight was ongoing.

One of the people involved, Hope Harper, told investigators that the altercation began when she asked Anothony Harper “why he didn’t season the chicken that was cooking so it could crust up.” Anothony Harper replied, “I know how to cook and Grammy was going to season the chicken.”

Hope Harper then called Anothony Harper a “dumb dog,” prompting him to push her into the kitchen table and punch her in the face. Someone else intervened by firing a gun into the ceiling to stop the fighting.

After the initial scuffle, Hope Harper chased Anothony Harper through the house with a steak knife. Their grandmother then emerged from her room and used a broom to chase Hope Harper away from Anothony Harper. In retaliation, Anothony Harper grabbed a can of Raid and sprayed it in Hope Harper’s face and neck. She was able to take the can from him and spray him all over his body.

Both individuals were arrested on Sunday and released on bond on Tuesday, facing charges of assault and battery.
