CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Another heat advisory is in effect for most of the Lowcountry, and an excessive heat warning has been issued for parts of Williamsburg and Georgetown.

“It will feel like 106 to 112 this afternoon, there is a risk of a shower or thunderstorm,” says Meteorologist Josh Marthers.

Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-90s in inland areas and low to mid-90s along the coast.

“Most of us are going to go between 106 and 110, but there will be a ribbon of enhanced heat index values pooling right along the Highway 17 corridor. It’s going to be 108 to 112,” Marthers added.

The areas with peak index values include Goose Creek, Charleston, Hollywood, the sea island in lower Charleston County, Mt. Pleasant, McCleanvill, Awendaw, and Hugee.
