Austin-Round Rock Job Market Adds 4,900 Positions amid Minor Unemployment Rate Increase to 3.8%
Despite adding 4,900 jobs from May to June, the Austin-Round Rock metro area saw a slight uptick in its unemployment rate, rising to 3.8%, according to a report from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). KXAN notes that this figure represents 56,143 unemployed residents. In spite of the increase, Austin still managed to maintain a lower unemployment rate than the statewide figure of 4.5% and the national rate of 4.3%.
