Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger insisted on Monday he was “not mad” about Larry David mocking him in the latest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

In episode one of the latest season, David is arrested after handing a bottle of water to a friend standing in line to vote – a dig at Georgia’s 2021 law , which prohibited people from giving food or water to voters in an effort to crack down on campaigning in the voting line.

During an interview with Raffensperger on Monday, NewsNation host and Mediaite founder Dan Abrams asked the Georgia secretary of state, “Were you a Curb Your Enthusiasm fan before all of this, or was this the first time you became aware of the show?”

“Well, I’m a conservative Republican, but I’m just not mad about it,” said Raffensperger. “And those folks on MSNBC seem like they get mad about everything, so we’re having some fun with this.”

On the letter he wrote to David poking fun at the situation, Raffensperger told Abrams, “I think Larry David probably fell out of his chair when he got that letter from me. ‘Wow, a Republican with a sense of humor. Must be a unicorn.'”

He concluded, “But you know, we’re making sure we have fair, honest, and accurate elections here in Georgia and we’re just not mad about it. We’re trying to improve the voter experience, making sure we have great accuracy, get those results posted real quick, and have fun at the same time. We’re trying to make elections fun.”
