Spain's Dani Olmo celebrates after scoring his side's fourth goal against Georgia.

It did not take long for Spain to regain its Euro dominance in its Round of 16 match against potential giant-killer Georgia.

After giving up an embarrassing own goal early in the first half, gifting Georgia a 1-0 lead, Spain leveled the playing field with an equalizer from its captain, Rodri.

Despite a few scares from Georgian strikers, the Spaniards scored a barrage of goals in the second half to clinch a spot in the quarterfinals.

Spain dominated possession, which led to midfielder Fabian Ruiz heading home a sweet cross from 16-year-old Lamine Yamal to put Spain in front 2-1 in the 51st minute.

With Georgia pushing far up-field to try and get back into the match, forward Nico Williams led a Spanish counterattack in the 75th minute and dashed any hope of a comeback with a top-bin strike to increase the lead to 3-1.

Midfielder Dani Olmo iced the game away with a well-placed ball into the lower-left corner of the net, cementing the 4-1 Spanish victory.

Georgia was the tournament's lowest remaining seed and should be proud of its performance in its Euro debut, highlighted by a 2-0 victory over mighty Portugal in the group stage.

Spain now advances to face host nation Germany in the quarterfinals which are set to kick off July 5-6.
