A second judge in two days has recused themselves from the high-profile YSL racketeering trial featuring rapper Young Thug. The judge, Shakura L. Ingram, recused herself Wednesday because of a personal relationship with a courthouse deputy who could be called as a witness in the trial. The deputy was arrested in 2023 for allegedly smuggling contraband to YSL defendant Christian Eppinger. Ingram was named Monday as the replacement to the original judge in the case, Ural Glanville , who was recused by a superior court after having a “secret” meeting with the prosecution’s star witness that didn’t include the defense. It is unclear how the recusal will affect the longest-running criminal trial in Georgia history, but according to Billboard , will likely delay the case again, while demands for a mistrial are also likely.
