Megan Moroney’s 2023 Debut Album ‘Lucky’ Is Officially Certified Gold

Megan Moroney’s first Gold album. Her 2023 debut record Lucky was just certified Gold by the RIAA, which means it has moved over 500,000 units since it was released just last year. It can take artists years to have an album go Gold, so it's impressive how quickly this happened for Moroney and goes to show just how many people are listening to, and buying, her music: Of course, Meg just put out her already very successful sophomore project Am I Okay? a couple weeks ago, which debuted at #9 on the Billboard Top 200 all-genre albums chart. For me, Lucky's quick wit and very southern, sassy writing resonated very deeply, and Meg's love her twangy, gritty vocals and ability to deliver these songs straight from the heart. There's a lot of that on Am I Okay? as well, and is a very prominent and unique aspect of her small but mighty catalog at the moment. In my very humble opinion, Lucky was one of the strongest debuts within the mainstream view I'd heard in quite some time, so I'm not surprised to see it go Gold so quickly. Featuring songs like "Traitor Joe," "I'm Not Pretty," "Tennessee Orange" and "Lucky," there's a reason she found a spot at #8 on our Top 40 Country Albums of 2023 list. And with the early, aforementioned success of Am I Okay? , I have a feeling this is the first of many Gold records for the Georgia native. She has had her single "No Caller ID" already go Gold, as well as singles "I'm Not Pretty" and "Tennessee Orange" also be certified Platinum, which were included on Lucky .
