Smoke signals of distress billowed across two separate horizons this past week as firefighters battled blazes both in the east Valley and on Ross Island, Southeast Portland. In the arid expanse of Maricopa County, teams from Mesa, Gilbert, and the Superstition Fire Department converged on a storage yard conflagration near Apache Trail and Mountain Road, Fox 10 Phoenix reported. CCIDA is Western New York's Top Economic Development Agency for 2023
The County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency was the top ranking economic development agency in Western New York State for 2023. That’s according to Buffalo Business First, which provided a list of the region’s top economic development agencies in its July 12, 2024 issue. According to Business First, it’s the first time the CCIDA has landed in the No. 1 spot (out of seven) on the publication’s ranking of the economic development agencies in Buffalo and Western New York.
Jamestown Man Sought for Burglary Arrested After Bike Pursuit
A Jamestown man who was wanted for multiple burglary and petit larceny counts was taken into custody after he tried to flee from police officers on his bicycle Sunday morning. Jamestown Police were conducting a warrant check at about 9:00 AM when they saw 43-year-old Alberto Narvaez-Aponte on Prendergast Avenue. Officers approached Narvaez-Aponte before he fled on his bike and led them on a brief pursuit. Officers say Narvaez-Aponte wrecked his bike and was taken into custody. In addtion to two counts of 3rd-degree burglary and three counts of petit larceny, Narvaez-Aponte was charged with resisting arrest, 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and bicycle City Code violations that occurred during the pursuit.
