Oregon's first season in the Big Ten is one week away. There have been few if any more anticipated seasons in program history. Expectations are very high for this iteration of the Ducks. According to some metrics, Oregon's roster is the best it's ever been and features the Heisman Trophy favorite in quarterback Dillon Gabriel along with some of the best skill talent in the country. The Duck defense, which took a sizable leap in 2023, could be even better this fall with the additions of numerous top portal defenders led by the likes of defensive linemen Derrick Harmon and Jamaree Caldwell and defensive backs Jabbar Muhammad, Brandon Johnson, Kam Alexander and Kobe Savage.

Beloved member of Eugene’s Black Community dies at 78
Lyllye Reynolds-Parker, a well-loved member of the Eugene community, died Thursday night. The news was shared by her niece in a Facebook post. Reynolds-Parker grew up in Eugene. She was born at Sacred Heart Hospital, and may have been the first Black child born there, according to the University of Oregon.
