A mum has been left fuming after her young daughter's Burger King meal turned out to be "covered in blood" , leading to the child now facing monthly blood tests. Tiffany Floyd was horrified when she discovered that what she initially thought was ketchup on her 4-year-old daughter's burger and chips from the Getzville, New York outlet of the fast-food chain last Friday was in fact blood.

The youngster had asked for her meal without ketchup, and upon inspecting what Tiffany believed to be a mistake, she was appalled to find traces of blood. In a TikTok video, Tiffany recounted the shocking incident: "I gave her the bag to eat the food and I heard 'Mom I don't want ketchup', so I take the bag back thinking they've messed up our order and I look and see there is blood all over her bag, the hamburger, the toy, her fries, everything.

"While wearing plastic gloves. I instantly told her to spit out her food. She did have fries and a bit of her hamburger. And then I looked at my meal, and there was blood on mine too," she said.

After contacting the Burger King location, the manager confessed to Tiffany that a chef had cut his hand earlier that day and offered her a refund upon return. The worried mum reached out to her local health department to report the incident but was told there wasn't much more they could do, as she shared on the social media site, reports the Mirror .

The video, which has since gone viral with over 3 million views, shows Tiffany explaining that her daughter must now undergo monthly blood tests for an entire year to ensure she hasn't contracted any bloodborne illness.

She disclosed that the Niagara County Department of Health contacted the Burger King branch and had the manager confirm that a worker had cut their finger but 'didn't think they were bleeding that bad,' she added.

"This is a serious issue and now I have to wait a whole month to get my daughter tested for any blood issues", the angry mum stated.

Hundreds of people also responded to her Facebook post where they suggested the incident was a lawsuit in the making.

"Contact a solicitor - at the very least they'll get you a settlement to cover any medical testing costs etc. (also emotional distress) don't engage with Burger King further, solicitor first"' one person advised. Another chimed in: "That's a lawsuit.. bodily fluid of any kind on food should be considered a bio-hazard."

Burger King's head office has offered to cover any medical expenses following the incident. "We did tell Burger King that medical expenses was not enough,' Tiffany told the New York Post. "My daughter has not eaten since this and my anxiety is through the roof and what if my daughter needs professional help from this?"".

Burger King has responded to the disturbing incident, stating: "We were deeply upset and concerned. We have been in contact with the Guest and are working with her to resolve this incident. This incident was the result of a team member in the restaurant who injured his finger, and upon noticing immediately stepped away."

"We closed the restaurant to retrain all the team members and hired an external company to complete a deep cleaning,' the company explained."

"We expect the restaurant to re-open Monday and are fully paying team members for any lost shifts during this temporary shutdown."
