Local businesses gear up for AAU Junior Olympics in the Triad
GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Gate City is getting ready to host thousands of visitors. Next week, the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympic Games will begin. Local businesses are getting ready for the large crowds. At least 40,000 visitors are expected to be in Greensboro for the 10-day competition. This will include the athletes, their families, coaches, and spectators.

UNC System announces search committee for new chancellor at NC State
UNC System president Peter Hans did not waste any time in appointing the committee that will recommend a replacement for NC State Chancellor Randy Woodson. Woodson, the longest serving chancellor in the University of North Carolina System, announced on Thursday that he will retire at the end of June of 2025 after 15 years leading the system’s largest university. Today, system president Peter Hans appointed a 13-member search advisory committee that will lead the effort to identify a new leader for the Raleigh-based institution.

The Greensboro City Council will meet to discuss what can be done to eventually reopen the contaminated and closed Bingham Park in order to make it safe for parkgoers again. Local Athletes excel at World Ninja Championships
The Ninja Labs (Saratoga & Albany) recently traveled to Greensboro, NC for the World Ninja League World Championships. The World Ninja League is the premiere obstacle league in the sport of Ninja. The event took place June 21-24th at the Greensboro Coliseum and hosted over 2300 athletes from 11 different countries and across 7 different age and skill divisions.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is investigating a cyberattack on a vendor-managed system from May. On May 13, an NC SBI agency network received an email with details about how their network had been hacked.
