The latest U.S. News & World Report rankings of hospitals once again see UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill grabbing a top spot. The 2024-25 rankings by the magazine were released on Tuesday, with the hospital campus checking in at No. 2 overall out of 135 hospitals evaluated in North Carolina. It is a position UNC Hospitals, which is part of the UNC Health system, has held for several consecutive years.
Randolph County Sheriff's Office investigates fatal shooting on Pisgah Road
ASHEBORO, N.C. — One man is charged with murder for killing a man he lived with, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said they responded to the fatal shooting on Pisgah Road in Asheboro on the morning of Friday, July 19. There, deputies found the victim, Daniel John Jarrell, shot on the scene.
