Pros to join locals at Gilbert skate park

Gilbert is giving skateboarders the opportunty to skate alongside two top professionals, Cody McEntire and Julia Brueckler, on Monday, June 10, at Freestone Skate Park.

The event will go from 6-8 p.m. at Freestone Park, 1045 E. Juniper Ave., Gilbert.

A renowned professional skateboarder hailing from Belton, Texas. McEntire's career took off after winning the Tampa Am competition in 2006. Known for his technical skills and creative flair, he has competed in major events like Street League, Dew Tour, Tampa Pro, and the X-Games.

McEntire has also made significant contributions to skateboarding culture through his innovative video parts and recently launched his own skateboard company in 2022.

An exceptional skater from Vienna, Austria, Brueckler is celebrated for her precision and creativity. She has competed in global competitions, including the XGames, Street League, and Dew Tour.

Brueckler won back-to-back World Championship titles in 2017 and 2018, and represented Austria in the first-ever Olympic skateboarding competition at the Tokyo 2020 Games. She continues to inspire the skateboarding community by coaching aspiring skaters.

In  additon to skating with McEntire and Brueckler, skateboarders will be given the chance to share feedack on the future skatepark, BMX opportunities and pump track feature at Gilbert Regional Park.
