Name: Jake Trayer, Joel Cronenberg, Adam Cronenberg

    Business name: Element Mist, LLC

    Location: Gilbert

    Website: https://ElementMist.com

What we do: Install high pressure misting systems for both residential and commercial customers to allow our clients to be able to use their outdoor spaces longer into the season to beat the Arizona heat.

Why you chose to work in your field: Misting became a passion for Jake and Joel as they saw many poor examples out in the market place of leaky and ineffective systems. They both had dabbled in other areas of water quality and started learning more about the misting industry and decided they could make a living doing mist. Adam (Joel’s older cousin) had previous experience in the home service industry and when Jake and Joel came to talk to him for advice after starting their company, he loved the concept so much that he decided to invest and join the company as well!

When and why you chose to start your business: Jake and Joel have been longtime friends and always dreamed of working together in a business. When they started looking around at the misting industry and the needs for outdoor comfort solutions with our Phoenix Heat, they thought the misting industry would be a perfect balance for helping customers enjoy the outdoors longer and being able to deliver a great customer experience to residential clients and help commercial businesses.

What we like most about what we do: No two systems are exactly the same, and it is incredibly rewarding to look at a space and understand what the owner is trying to accomplish and design a system to meet their needs. It is incredibly rewarding to go back for annual maintenance on the systems and talk to our customers and hear how much they love their high pressure misting system.

What is something many people don’t know about you? Joel placed fifth in a national coffee cocktail-making competition, Jake is an avid collector of old books, and Adam loves traveling and has visited more than 80 countries so far.

How did you get into your career? Joel started focusing on water quality with his previous job in coffee and got really intrigued with misting. He started to learn and research the industry and thought he could make a career out of it and jumped headfirst into starting the company with Jake.

What originally brought you to the Valley? Jake, Joel and Adam are Phoenix natives, having grown up in Mesa and now all three reside in Gilbert.

One thing we want our clients/neighbors to know about us: We care deeply about our customers and want to make sure every custom mist system we design is loved and utilized regularly by our customers. No two systems are the same and no two are used the same way, so making sure we understand what you are trying to do with the space you are cooling helps in the design phase.

What we are thankful for: The different people who are rooting for us and helping us in our business, from our supplier, to other home service professionals, to friends and family. None of this would have been possible without their support.

People who inspired us (and how): Tommy Mello, founder of A1 Garage Door Service. Joel and Adam worked for A1 at some point in their careers, and Tommy gave them the confidence to set out and start a new business in a new industry and to approach the misting industry in a different way than what is already in the marketplace.

How are you involved in the local community? Element Mist has donated misting packages to local schools as well as participated in a few local charity events. In addition, Adam volunteers and coaches an under-6 and under-9 girls soccer teams for GYSA.

What advice would you give to people entering your field? Have a clear goal in mind of what you want your company to look like and make sure don’t lose focus on that vision. Don’t be afraid to enter the marketplace in a different way that what your competitors are doing and stay true to your mission and core values.
