A 22-year-old man has been indicted in the deaths of Cooper Lamb, his fiancée and their 11-month-old daughter, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced Thursday morning.

Brian Alexander Torres-Perez was indicted on three counts of manslaughter in connection with the crash that occurred Dec. 16, 2022, in Gilbert, according to an MCAO release.

Lamb, the son of Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb, died at a hospital after the crash along with Caroline Patten, 20. Their child died at the scene.

The case was submitted to MCAO by the Gilbert Police Department in February 2023. Excessive speed, alcohol and other drugs were factors in the crash, the release stated.

Torres-Perez is being detained in the custody of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office with a $150,000 cash bond.
