MOUNT VERNON — Eight people were sentenced in June in Knox County Common Pleas Court. Seanace Jarvis, of Ironton, was sentenced to two years of community control on two assault-on-a-peace-officer convictions. Jarvis was ordered to serve 180 days in the county jail with credit for three days served, to be suspended on the condition Jarvis enters and successfully completes The House of Hope Aftercare Program, among other conditions.

MANSFIELD — The Tyger Digital Academy may be going offline for good. The Mansfield City Schools Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting Tuesday, July 9 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss and possibly vote on the closing of the Academy, according to a special meeting notice sent out by the district.
