A Delicious Broccoli and Cheese Casserole Recipe

A broccoli and cheese casserole dish is a brilliant way to tempt even the pickiest of eaters to try their green vegetables. Here's my full recipe.

    Ingredients:

    For the casserole:

    • 2 cups of broccoli florets
    • 1 cup of shredded pepper jack cheese
    • 1/2 cup of milk
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs (optional)
    • Season with seasoning salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste.

    For the cheese sauce:

    • 2 tablespoons of butter
    • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup of milk
    • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

    Instructions:

Steam the broccoli florets until they are tender.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, seasoning salt, and freshly ground black pepper.

Add the steamed broccoli and shredded pepper jack cheese to the mixing bowl and stir to combine.

Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish.

In a saucepan, melt the butter for the cheese sauce.

Whisk in the flour until it forms a paste.

Gradually whisk in the milk until the sauce thickens.

Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it melts and the sauce is smooth.

Pour the cheese sauce over the broccoli mixture in the casserole dish.

    Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top (optional).

Bake in a 350-degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and lightly golden brown on top.

Let it cool slightly before serving. Then enjoy your delicious broccoli-and-cheese casserole!
