    1 Hour Skillet Stew

For my one-hour skillet stew, I rely on my trusty 20-inch cast iron skillet. This hearty stew features flavorful ground beef, sliced carrots, and large, chunky pieces of potatoes. It's satisfying, delicious, and easy on the wallet.

    Ingredients:

    • 2 pounds of ground beef
    • 1 cup of carrots, sliced
    • 4 to 5 potatoes, cut into large chunky pieces
    • 2 tablespoons of beef boullion
    • 1 teaspoon of soul seasoning
    • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
    • 1 tablespoon of onion powder
    • 1 cup of beef broth
    • 1 cup of water, plus additional as needed
    • 1/4 cup of flour
    • Seasoning salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
    • 1 tablespoon of olive oil

    Instructions:

Begin by preparing the potatoes and carrots. Then set them aside.

Heat the olive oil in your skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, onion, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent for about 10 minutes.

Add the carrots and potatoes to the skillet, stirring to combine with the beef mixture.

Pour in the beef broth and water, and season with soul seasoning, smoked paprika, onion powder, seasoning salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Cover the skillet and let the stew cook for about 30 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.

Remove the lid and let the stew simmer for another 10 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced slightly.

To thicken the stew, mix some flour with a bit of the stew liquid to make a slurry. Pour the slurry into the pan and stir it well. Let it cook for about 10 minutes to thicken the stew.

After that, give the stew a good stir and taste it to check the seasoning. If needed, add more seasoning salt and freshly ground black pepper to enhance the flavor.

    Serve and enjoy!
