Royals place veteran pitcher on release waivers
The Royals have released veteran right-hander Jordan Lyles, according to Anne Rogers of MLB.com. Should he pass through waivers unclaimed, he will become a free agent in the coming days. Lyles, 33, was placed on the restricted list back in April due to an undisclosed personal matter. Per Rogers, Lyles reported to the organization last month, opening up a 30-day window for him to either be added back to the roster or released. Saturday was day 30 of that window, prompting the right-hander’s placement on release waivers.

NFL fans are in awe over the luxurious multi-million dollar suite Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt built for himself in Arrowhead Stadium, the team’s home venue. Kansas City has emerged as the NFL’s golden franchise under Clark Hunt’s ownership. Chiefs continue to resist alternate uniforms
The Nikefication of the NFL has a handful of clear exceptions. One has been the Chiefs. But for a 2009 game against the Cowboys in which the Chiefs resurrected their Dallas Texans uniforms from the years the two AFL and NFL teams shared a market (which happened before Nike took over the apparel contract), the Chiefs have shunned the proliferation of helmets and jerseys and alternate whatnot.
FIRST WARN FORECAST: Spotty showers Sunday, cooler the next few days
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Good news! We were able to take both First Warns off on Sunday and Monday, meaning we are trending a bit drier than previously expected. I still think that Sunday will have a 30% confidence in a few light showers, but the activity looks super spotty and not overly heavy. You might encounter a few raindrops from time to time on Sunday, but I think outdoor plans will be okay for the most part. Highs stay in the lower 80s with moderate humidity. Same thing on Monday, I have a 30% confidence in a few light showers/maybe a stray rumble. No significant rain chances in the next seven days. We will however return to more of a summer feel. Mid-80s midweek with upper 80s expected late this next week and into next weekend to wrap out the end of July. I am starting to see signs of early August trending hotter. Something worth watching. Morning lows over the next week will at least stay in the 60s for a refreshing start to each day!

The Kansas City Chiefs franchise lost an all-time great last week. Legendary running back Abner Haynes passed away at the age of 86. Haynes was a trailblazer for the American Football League’s Dallas Texans during the 1960s. During the league’s first season in 1960, Abner earned Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year honors. Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt released a statement about Abner following the news of his passing.
