A Delaware City man is facing his sixth DUI charge after falling asleep behind the wheel in the parking lot of an auto repair center in Glasgow, police said.

The incident happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. July 1 outside the Lunch Box Garage on Pulaski Highway, according to state police.

Employees of the business saw a pickup truck blocking the garage doors. When they approached, they found the driver slumped over the wheel.

Employees woke up the driver, who backed up the truck and fell back asleep.

Troopers arrived and found the man still sleeping in the truck. After waking him up again, troopers observed signs of impairment, police said.

The driver, identified as 43-year-old Ronnie Steele, has five previous convictions for DUI, authorities said.

Steele was charged with sixth-offense driving under the influence of drugs, which is a felony. He was jailed after failing to post $10,000 cash bond.
