The Feast of St. Rocco is a family tradition for so many in Glen Cove and beyond. The so-called "Best Feast in the East" continued for its second night on Friday, with a large turnout. The big draw is the homemade Italian food, with some of the favorites being sausage and peppers, zeppoles and canolis. Funds raised at the event go to the church and its pantry. Organizers say it is also an opportunity to pay homage to St. Rocco. “It’s the saint of incurable diseases,” said Reggie Spinello, former chairman of the feast. “There’s a lot of tradition here. The church itself that you see was built by the people who moved here from Italy, and they built this church for the Italian community." The kids are having a thrill on the rides. “I love all the people here. I love the rides. They're really fun," said Gabe Hirschhorn, of Massapequa. "She loves the rides, the family atmosphere. She just loves it," said Scott Goldberg, of Glen Cove, about his daughter. Hundreds of volunteers from the church help with the feast, and it continues this weekend. “Everybody is so happy, all the Italian faces. It brings back memories as a kid, so it's awesome," said Anthony Famiglietti, of Glen Cove. "
