A rare catch at Jordan’s Lobster Farms
In a rare event, Jordan’s Lobster Farms, a cornerstone of the seafood industry in Island Park for over 70 years, welcomed five rare orange lobsters. Fishermen pulled five orange lobsters in one trap in Boothbay Harbor in Maine, which were transported to the Island Park Lobster eatery. The addition of the orange lobster family has brought a surge of interest to Jordan’s Lobster Farms. This rare display comes just two weeks after the restaurant received a shipment of a 20-pound and the rarities serve as an educational opportunity for the public.

It was interesting, the wave of the future.” Another traveler, Terri-Anne, of Brooklyn, said that she prefers “human judgment,” but “if it’s just a short...

The True Story of the Amityville Horror
Since 1977, a lake house in Amityville, New York, has been the subject of multiple books, television programs, and almost 15 movies. However, the real story of the "Amityville Horror" is rarely told in the films, which focus more on a fiction based around the Lutz family and their alleged haunting. One of the most interesting facts about the Amityville case is that the hauntings have been debunked numerous times. The defense lawyer who initially represented mass murderer Ronald Defeo, Jr. has stated in multiple court documents that the entire haunting was a hoax. Still, the mythology of the Amityville home lives on.

Among the Artists In Ridgewood
“It’s changed so much,” says Jude Tallichet, a sculptor of modest renown who moved to Ridgewood some twenty-five years ago. Tallichet had been among the first wave of artists to find themselves suddenly located in this quiet, corner neighborhood, just outside northern Brooklyn. Rent prices had gotten her “kicked out of Williamsburg,” she says. On a recent weekend, Tallichet could be found standing outside a nondescript corner of the steadily gentrifying neighborhood, outside a recently-opened bakery, constantly adjusting a collection of papier-mâché rats, realistically-sized.
