Millburn Township Committee Awards Cell Tower Agreement to Diamond Towers
MILLBURN, NJ – Cell phone service in parts of Millburn and Short Hills can be spotty, and the township has found a way to be paid for improving it. Deputy Mayor Frank Saccomandi presented resolution 24-180, awarding a contract to Diamond Towers V LLC to lease land for a cell tower. He began, “I think it is long overdue, cell phone coverage in the Poets Section of town has been abysmal, and in some cases, there's no coverage at all, and that creates a public safety issue.” He asked Business Administrator Alex McDonald what the anticipated revenue...
Truck Driver Indicted in Fatal Sunnyside Hit-and-Run
Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced that Boubacar Barry was indicted on Tuesday in the death of 16-year-old Jael Zhinin who was struck by Barry’s water delivery truck as she was crossing 46th Street in Sunnyside along with her younger sister, who was also hit and seriously injured. Barry allegedly continued making deliveries after striking the sisters.

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - The Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education approved Vincenzo Barchini as the new Hasbrouck Heights High School principal during Thursday night's meeting. Advocates push for restoration of programming for detainees on Rikers Island
Advocates say the city’s Department of Correction has been struggling to provide adequate reentry services and programs to detainees at Rikers Island.
