Belmar surfer tackled, arrested over beach tags on video
It started out as a beach tag check. It turned into an altercation that has social media users fuming. Austin Downs posted a two-minute video and an account of the arrest on Facebook. “A local surfer was arrested at Belmar Beach on 19th Avenue for not displaying a beach badge on his wetsuit, despite having the badge attached to his beach bag,” Downs posted. “During the arrest, officers placed him in a chokehold and threw him to the ground.”

NEW JERSEY - Police in NJ say a woman jumped over a wooden fence at the tiger enclosure at Cohanzick Zoo in Bridgeton – and was caught on camera. New principal at Berea Elementary
MONTGOMERY – Berea Elementary School in the Valley Central School District has a new principal. Kara Raap comes to the district with 24 years in education. Most recently, she was assistant principal of Presidential Park Elementary School in the Middletown Enlarged City School District. Prior to that, she was a classroom teacher for 19 years in the Port Jervis City School District, where she taught fifth grade and Math Academic Intervention Services.
