Judge denies bail for operator of illegal Reedley biolab
REEDLEY – The man behind the illegal lab in Reedley will remain in custody after his bail request was denied in federal court. On July 17, 2024, U.S. District Judge Dale A. Drozd of the Eastern District Court denied without prejudice Jia Bei Zhu’s request. Federal prosecutors argued that Zhu, also known as David He, is considered a flight risk with close ties to China. He is represented by Fresno attorney Anthony Capozzi.
Guardrail Repairs To Cause Delays On O’Byrnes Ferry Road
Starting today (July 25), and continuing through the remainder of the month, a crew will be making needed guardrail improvements on O’Byrnes Ferry Road near Copperopolis. Traffic lanes will be impacted and flaggers will be on the scene, so travelers are urged to use extra caution and to be prepared for delays. SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A woman killed last week near Loaves and Fishes in Sacramento has been identified. Sara Jane Beebe, 43, was found dead around 6 a.m. July 16 by officers with the Sacramento Police Department after reports of a fight along the 1300 block of North C Street.
