WEST SEEGMILLER: Building bridges in a torn city
Last week, I attended a strategic planning meeting in West Hollywood. Residents and local leaders reviewed a recent public input campaign. As the founder of a non-partisan medical freedom coalition, I was surprised to be invited given my independent status often makes me a divisive figure among the local intelligentsia.

Lakers Trade Proposal Adds $48 Million Center in 2-for-1 Swap
The Lakers trade search for a big man continues, though the team, like much of the league, remains in a holding pattern on the trade front, for now. The Lakers are limited in what they can do because, for one thing, they have a full roster of 15 players and, for another, they are up against the dreaded “second apron” of the NBA’s luxury tax.

Top 30 Most Important Trojans for 2024: No. 12
Like all USC offenses, the 2024 Trojans will rely on a Lincoln Riley-designed passing game that creates space and after-catch opportunities primarily for the team's wide receivers. USC spent about half of its 2023 offensive snaps with four or more offensive weapons split out. Unlike most of Riley's tenure and certainly unlike his first two USC teams, the Trojans don't have a clear frontrunner to headline the wide receiver position. In 2022, Jordan Addison was expected to be that guy and he very much was for the Trojans. Last season, USC added Dorian Singer from Arizona but it ended up being Tahj Washington and Brenden Rice who did the heavy lifting for Caleb Williams.
