Pelicana Chicken opening this fall in Rockville
Bonchon is about to get some major competition in the Rockville Town Center area. Pelicana Chicken, a full-service Korean chicken restaurant, will open this fall at 4 N. Washington Street at Courthouse Center. The Pelicana chain was founded in 1982 in Daejeon, South Korea, and today boasts of over 3000 locations worldwide. It opened its first U.S. location in 2014 in Flushing, Queens, New York.
Footage reveals apprehension of suspect in the murder case of Maryland mother Rachel Morin
Martinez Hernandez was apprehended in June at a bar in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a full 10 months after the discovery of Morin’s lifeless body on the Ma & Pa Trail in Harford County. After being apprehended, he was eventually transported to Maryland, where he now confronts a multitude of charges including first and second-degree murder, rape, sex offense, and kidnapping.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fire at 12oooblk of Clarksburg Square Rd in Clarksburg. According to MCFRS Spokesperson David Pazos, “MCFRS is responding to 12832 Clarksburg Square Rd(Clarksburg) for a building fire with a report of fire to the rear of a 4-story residential apartment building with rescues. 2nd alarm requested.”

J.C. Penney to permanently close 4 stores
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Department store retailer J.C. Penney will shutter four stores across as many states, Retail Dive has reported. According to an email provided by the company, locations in Alabama, Texas and Maine will close before Sept. 22. The J.C. Penney at the Westfield Annapolis Mall in Annapolis, Maryland, will close in 2025.
