Modesto man arrested in Redding for soliciting a minor
REDDING, Calif. — A Modesto man was arrested for solicitation of a minor for sexual acts in Redding Wednesday. The Redding Police Department (RPD) says Ramiro Gonzalez-Cordova, 33, of Modesto, started chatting with a 15-year-old female online and arranged to meet her near her home in Redding. Officials say after driving nearly 4 hours to meet the girl in Redding, on July 24, Gonzalez-Cordova instead met Redding Police Detectives, who had been posing as the juvenile on an internet chat application.
Gov. Newsom says he missed calls from Biden, Harris moments after president dropped out of election

California secures federal assistance to support response to Park Fire
SACRAMENTO – Working quickly to bring in additional funding and resources to help fight the rapidly burning Park Fire, Governor Gavin Newsom today announced that California last night secured a Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help ensure the availability of vital resources to suppress the fire burning in Butte County.
