(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Family and friends of a Glenview teenager killed in a car crash last month came out for the arraignment of the man charged in that case.

They wore black T-shirts with a picture of Marko Niketic on them. Roughly 100 relatives and friends of the Glenbrook South Senior came to the Skokie courthouse to watch the arraignment of Taeyoung Kim.

The 21-year-old Northbrook man pleaded not guilty to the many charges against him including DUI, reckless homicide and reckless driving.

Cook County prosecutors say he was going 130 miles an hour with his headlights off ahead of the crash. The posted speed limit where the crash occurred is 35 mph.

Niketic died at the scene. The Cook County State's Attorney's Office reports that the passenger in Niketic’s car, his girlfriend, suffered several serious injuries.

A memorial at the site on East Lake Avenue near Meadow Lane continues to grow and Niketic family plans to dedicate a garden in his honor next month.
