GLENVILLE, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — A local warehouse will soon look a lot more colorful. A project to paint a mural on the side of the Adirondack Beverages building in Glenville officially started on Wednesday.

The building is across from the Scotia-Glenville Middle School. Over the next few weeks, it will be transformed into a large image of the school’s mascot.

Organizers hope to inspire the students with a little school spirit.

“I like taking things that are either blank, canvases, or could use a little bit of love and just bringing some imagery and art into the world,” Phil Shaw, art teacher and muralist, said. “It’s accessible to everybody.”

The district spent several years raising money and gathering community input for the project. They said if the weather holds up, it should be finished by the end of July.
