Former Duck Jessica Hull sets new Australian record at Paris Diamond League
EUGENE, Ore. — Two world records went down at the Paris Diamond League meet on Sunday, and a former Duck set a new personal best in the women's 1500 meters. Former Oregon runner Jessica Hull set a new personal best in the 1500, running 3:50.83. The mark is the 5th fastest ever by a woman in the 1500 meters and a new Australian national record. Hull's previous personal best came on May 25th when she ran 3:55.97 at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene. Hull will represent Australia in the Summer Olympics for the second time in her career. Hull finished 11th in the 1500 meter final at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Former Colorado QB Drew Carter to continue college basketball career at Oregon
Former Colorado football quarterback Drew Carter isn’t giving up on his college basketball career just yet. After spending last season hooping at UC Davis, Carter announced via Instagram on Friday his commitment to the Oregon Ducks men’s basketball program. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Oregon native will join head coach Dana Altman’s team as a walk-on guard, according to Ducks Digest. At UC Davis this past winter, Carter saw 22 total minutes of action across nine games played. He finished the year with 11 total points, including six in UC Davis’ season opener against Jessup. Carter spent two seasons with the Buffs as a backup QB, appearing in nine total games before entering the transfer portal in April 2023. Colorado men’s basketball head coach Tad Boyle welcomed Carter on as a walk-on during the 2021-22 session, although he never saw game action. Lane County hears dueling redistricting proposals
Dozens of Lane County residents gave feedback last week on dueling proposals for how Lane County should handle redistricting. Every 10 years, Lane County convenes a Charter Review Committee to examine and recommend changes to Lane County's Charter, the county government's guiding document comparable to a local constitution. This cycle, the committee recommended six charter amendments, the biggest of which centers around how the county should handle redistricting.
